Who are we?
We are Núcleo Assistencial Irmão Alfredo, known as NAIA. We are a not-for-profit organization, established in 1982, focused on human development and advancement through education. We maintain and operate two centers:- Unit Brooklin – COEPE I - Rua Ribeiro do Vale, nº120. - Unit Vila Missionária – COEPE II - Av. Padre Augusto Lombardi, nº20.
Our activities
We provide educational care which is inclusive, that is, it covers both regular children as well as children with special needs. We strive to provide care which emphasizes respect for the individual, and for the differences between various individuals. We stimulate our charges, some 500 children between the ages of 1 and 15 years, as well as their families which often find themselves in situations of social vulnerability. Directly and indirectly, we cover some 3.000 people.Our efforts are directed at magnifying the range of interests of our children by means of Cultural Workshops: Arts and Crafts, Music, Sports, Capoeira (Brazilian folk dance/fight), Theater, Computing, English, Environmental Awareness and Training for the Labor Market.
Mission
To prepare, by means of an inclusive educational process, children and teenagers for the complete development of their full potential, thereby reducing their exposure to the risk to be found in their communities, through care, social development and the establishment of a social network for the children and their families.
Vision for the future
To establish NAIA as a benchmark organization of the 3rd. sector, self-sustaining and inclusive, devoted to the preparation from a social-cultural perspective of children, teens and their families, so as to enable them to develop consciousness of justice and solidarity.
